The Big Give from Junction Arts
We are currently working in partnership with Junction Arts and their fundraiser The Big Give, which is running from 29th November - 6th December.
Junction Arts are based in Chesterfield, and are extremely important in our local community. They provide opportunities for those facing social barriers such as poverty, poor health, and low aspirations to create a better future through the arts.
They are committed to working with communities to co-create impactful and memorable arts experiences that empower people, improve wellbeing and to inspire change.
The benefits of engaging with art are enormous, and research shows that active participation improves overall life satisfaction, decreases mental distress and strengthens mental health functioning. Unfortunately, there are still barriers to art within deprived areas, so the work Junction Arts are doing is vital. They want art to be available to everyone and offer plenty of activities in the form of online events, creative workshops, festivals and exhibitions.
You might be looking at exercising your creativity each week, or a budding filmmaker hoping to break into the industry, or simply to discover local poets in the area. There really is something for everyone, and we feel extremely proud to be helping this valuable cause.
The Big Give runs from 29th November - 6th December and is to raise money to fund more safe spaces for young people to form connections and nurture their creative skills; spaces where they can find support for their emotional wellbeing and explore their path and passions. During this period, Junction Arts will be doubling any donations made, so please share with friends and family and mark the dates in your diary.
