Christmas Festivities in Bolsover

With Halloween and Bonfire Night out the way, we can now turn our attention to the biggest family event on the calendar… Christmas. Whilst it might be a little too early to get the decorations out (although we salute anyone who has started Christmas shopping), a great way to kick off festivities is to see the man himself at the majestic Bolsover Castle.

What’s more is that Bolsover will be host to the annual Christmas Market followed by the Lantern Parade on November 26th. This is a huge celebration enjoyed by the community of Bolsover, and many people travel from far and wide to take part in the festivities. With plenty of stalls, freshly made food and drink, as well as lots of family entertainment, it’s ideal for all ages. The day concludes with the magical lantern parade, which starts at Bolsover Castle and ends in the market square. Look out for the Stancliffe Homes lantern which has been crafted by the amazing Junction Arts organisation. The celebration concludes with carols and live music - it really is the perfect way to kick off the Christmas countdown!
